Another good, productive day

...or two, actually; a dyeing day is always followed by a rinsing and drying day. Bamboo in particular has to be rinsed and rinsed--the reds never do stop bleeding--and then it takes a long time to dry.

Tomorrow I do more...and go to the doctor for my strained knee. I banged it a while ago, and I think I'm doing too much with it, but it's not going to get any rest till the end of July. :-(

  1. Mia,
Just wanted to let you know--I'm a brand new spinner, just picked up three of your hand dyed BFL...braids?...hunks?...thingies?...you know...the stuff you spin (not up on the lingo yet, give me time!)...over at Knitter's Palette, and they are just lovely! I got blues and purples and jewel tones, and I can't wait to figure out what the heck I'm doing so I can spin them up!

  2. Woooo!!!! Thank you! They'd be called hand-dyed BFL top--Top is washed, combed wool; all the fibers are parallel and will spin up into a smooth, strong yarn. Best of luck with the learning; I think you'll find the BFL pleasant to learn with; it's easy to draft (pull the fiber off the end) and has a nice long staple (fiber length). Let me know how it goes for you and thanks for visiting!
